Tokyo 2020!!!

 

I am a fan of Japan, Japanese, and many things (if not all) Japan. They are nation with extraordinary culture.

When people said that they would have lost to Russia during the Russo-Japan War, Japan won and shocked the Western Hemisphere along with the Asian countries. The consequences was the rise of Asian anti-colonialism movements and Japan was stepping into the league of “modern” countries.

After the World War II devastation, Japan managed to build their economy in 20 years to second largest economy after the United States with estimated nominal GDP of USD 91 billion. The Japan Economic Miracle again with their Flying Geese Paradigm (Asian nations will catch up with the West as a part of a regional hierarchy where the production of goods would continuously move from the more advanced countries to the less advanced ones, envisioning this pattern as geese flying in unison with Japan being an obvious leader,) had the domino effects on their neighboring countries

Although there were long economic stagnant in the decades of 1990-2000, and with the population decline, and cultural-demographic challenges, Japanese seemed to manage it piece by piece, with the first increase of number of newborn in 2015 after decades of decline, and the return of Nintendo with Pokemon Go, the surplus in budget, and now the Tokyo 2020 Olympic.

Talking about the Olympics, the Tokyo 2020 teaser is spectacular. Highlighting on the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as the Super Mario going into the pipeline tunnel from Tokyo to Rio with the help of Doraemon, and with the appearance of Captain Tsubasa, Pacman, and Hello Kitty. I really am looking forward to the Olympics, if possible attending it. Hopefully!
